Vocal Coaching
Joel Waggoner is an up-and-coming composer, music director, vocal coach, and performer. He was recently showcased at the Lincoln Center Arts and Artists Songbook Series at the Bruno Walter Auditorium. His bluegrass rock musical, CAROLINA BREEZE, with words by Lori Mannette, received a professional reading in 2010. His work has been showcased at Joe's Pub, New York Theater Barn, the Laurie Beechman, and Goodspeed Opera House. With Leah Miles, he wrote a one-act musical THIS IS US, which was performed at NYU in 2009. Joel's work has been featured in William Finn's concert series"Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyrcists You Probably Don't Know, but Should..." at Barrington Stages in 2009-2011 and Merkin Recital Hall in 2010, as well as in his own cabaret series entitled "Rhymes With Soul: The Songs of Joel." He currently serves as a faculty accompanist/music director and vocal coach at CAP21 Musical Theatre Conservatory and also teaches voice for MTCA (www.mtcollegeauditions.com). Recently he was in residence as music director and guest graduate aculty at the University of Northern Iowa Department of Theatre.

$80 per hour. Cash only. Vocal styling, acting of the song, audition technique, accompaniment recordings (student must provide recording device), cuts and arrangments, key adjustments, repetoire consultation and book compilation.
